Quilt Restoration

NOTE:  Do NOT wash your quilt before sending it to me for restoration!  Washing can further damage the quilt and complicate the restoration.

Restoring a quilt is a unique project - each one is different so pricing is entirely dependent on each quilt's special needs.  Once the decision is made that the quilt can be restored, steps can include some or all of the following:

  • Removing the quilt top from the batting and backing
  • Repairing seams
  • Removing extra fullness
  • Replacing or reinforcing worn/damaged fabric (every effort will be made to use appropriate replacement fabric)
  • Shrinking holes left when removing ties
  • Replacing backing and/or batting
  • Re-quilting (edge to edge)
  • And more...
